In light of the hospitality restrictions changing on April 12th (allowing you to mix with up to 6 people outdoors) here’s a quick read list featuring bars, cafes, restaurants and pubs in Birmingham with outside space to mix households.
I’ve split them alphabetically into areas in a bid to be helpful but all types of hospitality venues are included. Some have lots of space and some have hardly any – it’s up to you to research them, check availability/opening dates and ask about things like heat lamps, if you feel that’s necessary. The rule of 6 remains regardless until June, as does table service and mask wearing when not seated.
Unsurprisingly I’ve been asked about this a lot over the last week, but please remember your inside-only venues need your love and support too. Appreciate it’s all difficult to navigate over the next few months but don’t neglect your favourites that have no outdoor space to offer you. We’re in use it or lose it territory for many – make sure you’re supporting the places that have treated you well before (not just those with a heat lamp) in some way too. A lot have at home kits and merchandise to flog you etc.
I’ll keep adding to the list (trying to keep it mostly local businesses) and feel free to send me suggestions to include. Remember that pre booking is probably helpful in the week’s leading up to April but be patient – not all venues have their booking systems set up yet.

Remember that April 12th date may change – use the Gov website for updates. Wash your hands and wear a mask when moving in and around venues. I’ll keep adding to this list as venues start releasing their plans in March. I’m sure I’ve missed loads – if you want to be added or have a suggestion for restaurants and pubs in Birmingham with outside space let me know.
*Don’t forget there’s new parklets (static tables and benches to meet at) from ColmoreBID in the city centre you can use too – they’re free and can be found outside places like Hotel du Vin and Purecraft Bar and Kitchen.
