Mowgli Street Food set to open in Grand Central

Calling all Indian street food fans! A new restaurant is coming to Grand Central in late September that’s going to make your tastebuds tingle. Mowgli Street Food will be serving up quick bites for shoppers and diners in the food court area of the Birmingham New Street complex.

Set to be the fourth restaurant under the up-and-coming Mowgli Street Food umbrella (Manchester has one and there’s two Liverpool venues) it’s spearheaded by popular chef and YouTuber star Nisha Katona.

Clearly excited for the new venue opening next month Nisha has been teasing foodie on Twitter recently with photos on the Grand Central site, currently boarded up while the transformation takes place in time for the autumn launch. Posting a pic to Twitter yesterday, chef Nisha said, “Birmingham Mowgli – Surely one of the friendliest cities in the world! Can’t wait to be part of the Grand Central Family. Roll on end Sept!”

The new venue is set to offer cocktails and food with a similar menu to the flagship restaurant, which includes a selection of Indian dishes including the unique sounding gunpowder chicken poppers, not to mention a variety of dishes suitable for vegans and vegetarians too.

The spicy street food scene has exploded in Brum over the last few months with other new additions to the foodie scene including The Indian Streatery opening in the last week alone. I can’t wait to see what Mowgli Street Food will bring to the table; if it’s anything like the existing restaurants it’ll be a beautiful venue.

Mowgli Street Food opens late September in Grand Central. You can find out more here.
