Foodies… Assemble!

*peeks out from under duvet*

Morning campers! Welcome to Bite Your Brum – a Birmingham-based blog geared to showing off all the culinary treats our fab city has to offer. I hope you’ll come with me on this new little adventure I’ve decided to set out on, which stems from both a love for all things edible and my somewhat experimental cooking.

So why (another) food blog? I’ve lived in Birmingham for over ten years, and have watched it develop and evolve massively over that decade. As the city itself continues to grow and thrive, so too does the food scene, and since moving here in 2006 I’ve loved seeing more and more restaurants pop up. One of my favourite things about Brum is the rising indepedent start-ups, meaning you can stumble on a hidden gem offering life-changing bites and give local businessess a boost. I don’t know about you, but I’d pick a quirky cafe offering lovingly homemade food over a microwaved packet panini from Starbucks any day of the week!

I believe food is good for the soul; anyone who says “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” clearly hasn’t had a Sun on the Hill roast beef dinner *high fives laptop* I’m actually getting married in October, so currently my foodie quest is often more geared to finding or creating slightly healthier (less carby – boo) meals, but come the weekend I’m still very much the burger-loving monster I’ve always been. A fan of trying new things, I honestly think sharing great food with good company is one of life’s most simple but best pleasures.

You can find out about me via the About page and of course drop me an email if you’ve got any suggestions, tips or places to shout about. I’m off for a bacon sandwich – happy Sunday, folks
