Something new has come to Digbeth! Say hello to Zumhof Biergarten.
The large indoor and outdoor venue takes over the old Air nightclub space opposite Digbeth Dining Club.
As well as a decent selection of well-priced beers and cocktails, there’s a food hut serving bratwursts, burgers and loaded fries alongside Rudy’s pizzas. Most food is priced between £4 – £8.
Popped in at the weekend – fun place, nice staff, felt safe during the day but can’t personally speak for the evening vibe. Good spot for catching the afternoon rays too.
In the garden you’ll find plenty of seating plus a big tipi (why not) with additional small groups of seating. Hopefully the stages can be used at some point in the future for live music and events.
With regards to safety (you’ll notice I’ll be talking about this on all posts for the foreseeable) you’re greeted by a host and taken to a table – you can choose indoors or outdoors – where you register for track and trace via your phone.
Drinks and food orders are made at the bar, rather than table service, so keep that in mind if that’s a concern for you. Remember: it’s up to you now to do your due diligence prior to visiting venues to make sure they’re operating in a way that you’re comfortable with.
With this place I would say it’s got good measures in place but is fairly relaxed – Dead Wax up the road is more stringent (staff in masks, table service etc) if that’s what you’re hoping for from a bar right now.
Open Thursday – Sunday. No need to book in advance but you can if you wish via the website.
